This simple buty very effective exercise will help you break out of the often used E and A minor tonalities. It is great to build stamina and will get you to play the 12 major scales in slap bass style with a solid groove and occasional fills.
Finger Style Funk
This is a great 16th note finger style funk groove in the style of the great Francis Rocco Prestia. Learn the A and B sections separately then put them together. Play it over and over to improve your consistency of time. I recommend using the playalong only once you've mastered both the A and B parts. I love this groove, enjoy playing it!
Shuffle Bassline and Fills
This lesson shares a great shuffle bassline and takes you through a basic to extended version. Includes a variety of fills to improve your sight reading skills, knowledge of notes over the range of the fingerboard and harmonic understanding. Incidentally, the musical content discussed is great for your technical development as well.
